my little Houzz

here are some things that have been happening around my house lately...

someone super special gave me some fancy flowers for Valentines day. Bunny likes them too.

that someone special also painted my room black and I looooooove it. man, I wish I had done it when I moved in over a year ago! I ended up going with Benjamin Moore's Baby Seal Black and it's an amazing shade of charcoal that can look kinda rich and navy in certain lights.
I also got a new bed frame-- it's the IKEA Redalen frame and I've had my eye on it for a while, so I was psyched when I saw it with a "last chance!" sign on my way to checkout. like many things I acquire, I wasn't planning on buying a new bed frame, but I'm really happy that I went for it. I also totally changed the game in the bedroom department by taking out the icky Home Depot fixture and installing the second of the two Nelson-esque pendant lights I got for free on Craigslist. I accessorized it with a ceiling medallion and a much-needed rheostat. it might not come across in the photos (have you ever tried taking pictures of a black room that gets no natural light?), but it's sexy in there, y'all.

also, hiiiii, new readers! Houzz was nice enough to do a little house tour of my apartment yesterday, so I hope you'll continue to come back and visit me. big things are in the works!!

Congrats on the feature! I'm bookmarking it for inspiration! Our bedroom lets in SO much natural light; I love the idea of painting it a dark color - plus, how cute is the name 'baby seal fur'? Aww! xo.

Heya-
I love your black room, and your bed frame was a score for sure! I've been thinking our bedroom needs a black wall but am having a rough time convincing the husband.

I'll be back soon.

I love the black walls- why not go all the way with the cozy cave vibe, plus it really makes the beams pop!

Very interesting furniture placement. Also, the black walls adds a nice feel for the room. Lighting can be improved, though.
