HAPPY NEW YEAR!! hopefully you all celebrated in style with someone who makes your heart race, because that's exactly what I did. I wore a sparkly vintage minidress, found the perfect shade of red lipstick, drank champagne cocktails at the Whistler, and kissed the handsomest fella in the room at midnight. 2011 is going to be an amazing year!

I highly recommend Mint.com for your finance stuff. I have been using it for a couple years now and it has really helped me understand how I spend my money--and then create a budget that makes sense.
And the Shedd Aquarium is awesome. I didn't make it there until like 3 months before I moved out of Chicago.:(
I wish I had thought to create a list like this for my birthday, only I'm turning 25 and in like 20 days. Oops.

thanks, Allison! I'm signed up with Mint, but haven't really taken the time to really get my budget going. glad to know it gets your thumbs up!

#21 would be on my list too! Saw a gorgeous chair in a second hand store, but it needed to be reupholstered and that's just not in the budget right now. Need to learn how to do it myself! Do share when you learn how!!

I wish there was a group of people that did stuff like this together. I share so many of the goals on your list but get overwhelmed at the idea of trying to learn upholstering on my own.
Is second the mint.com recommendation. It has been a huge help to my husband and I. We finally figured out that we can afford a car because of it!

And yes there is great mushroom hunting in Kentucky, I'm from there originally and I have many friends that do it. You should go with an expert at first though, the learning curve for mushroom hunting is very scary.

You should totally read 'I Capture the Castle' by Dodie Smith. It's centred around an amazing neglected English Castle, going into the lives of the bohemian family that live there, with warmth and humour abounding.

oooh, i love this idea! i have a week and a half til thirty so not sure i can make such an adventuresome list as yours, but will see what i can whip up for myself. i did create a yoga sequence of thirty poses, held for thirty breaths, that i'm doing for thirty days before my thirtieth :)

In the past year I did #10 and #11 on your list. One thing that I found helped to give me the 'feel' of soda without actually drinking it was to mix cordials with sparkling water..was served it at a restaurant in Dublin and was subsequently hooked!

I highly recommend Belvoir cordials.. { https://www.jollygrub.com/OnLineStore1/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&zenid=3a27ec0eeadd965d4e3254b2d4e70ab8&keyword=belvoir } elderflower is my fave. Hope that helps!
