I know you've probably seen this image a few times already, but I just couldn't stop thinking about it over the weekend. there are several things in this photo that I covet, those chairs being the my main obsession. in almost any other room, they'd be a bit too much but here they work so well with the dark oil portraits and that almost-ebony dresser. the lamp, the birds, the dog...it's all perfect!
I can't figure out if it's just because I'm seeing them in so many fabulous homes lately, or if I'm genuinely into them...but I'm starting to take a liking to those funny old portraits. I saw a handful of great ones at the Rose Bowl flea market this weekend and I had to fight the urge to buy them all to hang above my couch. although they sortof seem a bit 'trendy', so I've got my reservations about jumping on the bandwagon.speaking of the Rose Bowl, I took a ton of photos and I can't wait to share them all! stop by tomorrow and check out all the treasures I found...
the photo is one of Mindy' Weiss' home from the Oprah at Home magazine.

in my version of feng shui, i require something hot pink in every room. either that, or turquoise.
i don't know if that centers me...but god, it makes me happy.
as does this pic.
and the one a few down? over the fireplace? the little imp with her eyes closed? need it. forget the covetable table...i need that imp!
gorgeous blog. i could spend the entire month of may here...
thanks, karey! i know, i love that painting too :)
Those chairs are pretty HOT! I have actually been looking all over for fushia velvet fabric. If you happen to know where I could get it by the yard...I am making a headboard and I really want to use this!
hey niki-- check on my blog under the "source" label. i found this great online company called Payless Fabric. i don't know if they have exactly what you're looking for, but the swatch I got for my couch is great quality.
Thanks! I checked it out but unfortunately Payless Fabric didn't have the fushia color I wanted. I did some more digging and found this website: syfabrics.com. I ordered some samples to check the quality. I'll let you know when I make the headboard so you can come and check it out on my blog!
Thanks again!
thats another great source! thanks for sharing it with me, i'm always looking :)
