Italian 1950's solid mahognay circular center table
price: $16,750
this coffee table is gorgeous. i'll admit, it caught my eye because it resembles Carrie's coffee table from Sex in the City (which Room and Board is now producing), though much higher quality. i love the brass feet.

Pair of Significant Stamped Louis XVI Walnut Chairs.
France, circa 1774-1792
price: $35,000
though i am trying to steer clear of all things animal (i am drawn to antlers and pelts like Perez Hilton to trashy gossip) these Louis chairs just don't get any better...they are covered in the most perfect freckled cowhide and the walnut has that ideal worn patina. these give me goosebumps.

Florence Knoll 2 piece sectional sofa. USA, 1950's
price: $12,000
the long clean lines of this sofa will work in just about any setting and i like the neutral, yet rich, grey upholstery.

Two Orange Commodes with Marble Top. France, 1970s
price: $9,855
maybe this seems like an odd choice to introduce to the room, but they kinda spoke to me. the orange would pop in the white room and compliment the rich brown in the table and the chairs. they mirror the style of the couch and the marble keeps them from being too kitchy. i'd put them on either side of a doorway with some fabulous lamps.

Pair of Textured metal Table Lamps. USA, 1950s
price: $3,400
click the link to get a closer look at these lamps, they're fantastic. the detail of the brass plating is sort of cosmic, but very well-done. the necks look to be walnut...

Vintage Brass Pig Figurine. USA mid-century. price: $150
Vintage New York Subway Sign. USA, 1950's. price: $900
Original Lithograph of Hungarian Film Poster. Hungary, 1917. price: $6,000
Tortoise Shell. 20th century. price: $3,900
i'd put the oversized Hungarian litho above the couch and the pig on the coffee table next to a stack of books and some lucite coasters. the subway poster would go over one of the orange tables and the huge tortoise shell above the other.
in total, this room would cost almost $88,000 (not including the white Beni Ourain rug, ivory wall paint, or window treatments), but that sounds like a fair price for something so fabulous, dont you think?
