im board!

part of my job requires that i peruse a bazillion magazines each week. sure, i look forward to the good ones (Paste, The New Yorker, Bust, etc.) but most of them are a total drag (Bass Player, Metal Edge, Country Music weekly), and have i mentioned how weird it is to sit at my desk and get paid to flip through Playboy?

unfortunately, musicians don't get much press in interior design magazines, so the closest i get to a home decor fix is Good Housekeeping. i've actually come to enjoy some of the recipes and helpful household hints, but "How To Overhaul Your Garage In Minutes" and "Turn You Jack-O-Lantern Into a Jazzy Picture Frame!" is a little more soccer-mom than i'm ready for.

but i was really excited when i happened upon this clever idea...

i've always loved the design of old board games and they're a dime a dozen at the Sally Ann. i think this one is especially attractive to me because the colors evoke an African feeling, which i'm totally digging right now.

a project like this would be great for just about every taste-- you could stick with simple, bold, and minimal, like this Parcheesi board or you could get really cutesie and include the game pieces in a shadowbox frame. i think this old airplane board game is pretty rad...

I'm curious as to what your job is that you are required to go through so many magazines...and where can I sign up...
