and she's just my type!
get excited, it's a post to inspire all of you DIY nuts out there. I am totally including myself in that catagory, please do not be offended.
these stool covers were recently posted somewhere (d*s?) and I kinda love 'em. while they lean a little granny for my all-around decorating style, I think they'd be super cute in a kids room, or just the right touch of warmth in a starkly modern home. I'd love to see a little row of 3 or 4 battered, tobogganed stools lined up underneath a white Parsons console (short) or standing proudly in front of a carrera marble-topped kitchen island (tall).

I love this idea. I'm not so keen on the chandelier in the middle, but I totally dig the shadows that the milkcrates create on the ceiling and walls. I'd totally do this in a rad loft or cheeky dining room...I'd probably use
globe or
crown bulbs.
things speak to me in funny ways, and this image brings to mind a posh British DJ's loft in New York. he'd have Hirst on the walls and a closet full of fresh white sneakers. and always use the sterling flatware.

this is actually an idea that would be super easy and perfect for a roommate situation. personally, I'm a big fan of hiding all things mail/work, but this looks nice enough. the blue/yellow/green combo is a little Martha for me, so I'm picturing black grates adhered to an exposed brick wall. or white on white. oooh, or deep poppy on a concrete wall. okay, I'll stop now.

someday I'll find a gorgeous regal wingback that's seen better days and I'll have it recovered in tobacco cloth. it'll be horribly itchy to sit on, but goddamn, it'll look good. here, coffee sacks (that have probably been soaked and conditioned) have been used to upholster this chair. let's think outside of the box, people.

I'm on the fence here. I don't really like the whole ghost-frame thing, when frames are left empty and hung in a group as "art", or when they're hung with other things hung inside of them. hung hung hung. sorry, that word was starting to sound weird.
but this is a cute DIY for a first apartment and wouldn't be too silly looking if done right. I appreciate that the hooks and the walls are white, so the focus is just on the frame and the hoodies. but, imagine this photo with the addition of like, purses, hats, raincoats, tote bags...see the whole concept gets a bit messy, no? thank god for coat closets.

the last 3 days have felt like Friday! my apartment is currently all packed into a million boxes and I am so anxious to get on the road to Chicago! I love moving (really, I do)...I just hate waiting to move.
